Sophia Alami
Sophia Alami is an Architect and Artist based in Casablanca, Morocco.
Her approach centers on conservation through creation, working across diverse mediums such
as illustration, food, writing and henna to explore how archives can reimagine heritage in
contemporary contexts. Her work focuses on preservation and transmission of cultural practices,
using archives to highlight overlooked voices and uncover collective histories.
In 2025, her artistic practice has been recognized with the Prince Claus Seed Award.
Sophia graduated from the Architectural Association in London in 2019 and manages today Rue
de Tanger, an artist-run space in Casablanca’s old Medina, together with Kais Aiouch, Chahine
Fellahi et Mouna Belgrini.
